Here is our interview with Çetin Kaya.

Please explain about especial features and advantages of Fulad Nab Tabriz Company?
Due to compliance with standards and its high quality products the company is exporting products to markets such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Iraq. The company’s products are well-known in domestic and foreign markets; Fulad Nab Tabriz Company is in operation in the framework of the basic principles of the company with modern concept of management in iron and steel industry. As a result of continued research and development, the company's technologies have been modernized and new generations of products have been introduced to the market. Due to modernization of technology and equipment which was performed in the last year, Foulad Nab Tabriz is capable of producing all sizes of IPE series (A, AA, AAA, AAAA) and export them.

Please explain the company's role as a bridge between the steel industry of Iran and Turkey.
Fulad NAB Tabriz Company has been jointly established by Iranian and Turkish private sector partners and has been equipped and commissioned by Iranian and Turkish engineers. In the entire process of founding, investing, commissioning and production, commercial and technical capabilities of both countries were involved and knowledge transfer was done consistently. This process is still ongoing and has created special features for the company which is resulted in increased competitiveness of the company in the market.
Since the establishment, the company has had the role of a bridge in the fields of management and technology between two countries. Fulad NAB Tabriz Company is an important achievement as a pattern for Iranian industry to implement a large number of new programs.
In many investments, the cooperation between the parties comes to an end after accomplishment of the works but in Foulad Nab Tabriz this did not happened and due to presence of owners from two countries the cooperation between parties has been continued without any interruption.

What are the strengths of Turkish steel industry?
Turkish steel industry has a strong structure and exports its products to many developed countries and possesses competitive capabilities. Regarding iron and steel industry, Turkey enjoys experienced human resources in trade, technology and business fields that is considered an advantage but there are also some shortcomings there.  Dependence on countries for supplying raw materials (scrap, iron ore and metallurgical coke) and the high price of energy such as electricity and natural gas are the main disadvantages of Turkish steel industries.

How do you evaluate the prospects for cooperation between Iran and Turkey's iron and steel industry?
Both countries recognize each other's steel industry, but at the same time it is not possible to understand it from reports of various publications; it requires bilateral and face to face negotiations. If we put these issues in a coordinated program, parties would reach to a real idea then various contributions can be created.

What are the NAB holding strategies to expand cooperation with Iran?
Iran has an important place in the strategies of NAB Holding. The Holding is always seeking investments opportunities in Iran’s iron and steel industry. In addition to Fould Nab Tabriz Company, it has invested in ANA Steel Company in Abhar region. The capacity of the plant is one million tons. After accomplishment of the investment, ANA Steel Company will have special position in Iran’s private sector. Not only in steel industry but also in other industries Turkey continues to develop its Iranian market and pays attention to the continuation of technical, commercial and social ties between two countries.
